What are Half Channel Swims?
These are swims which start at least 17km from English shoreline. The swim then returns to UK shoreline.

"On June 29th 2024, I had the privilege to successfully complete the English Channel half-distance coached by Chloë McCardell, current Queen of the Channel.
It was one of the most intense experiences of my life!
Chloë was coaching me through this journey - from adjustments prior to the swim, cheering me on and providing support during the swim until a thorough post-swim analysis and sharing areas of improvement.
I think without Chloës effort I would not have been able to complete the distance on that day. With her positive and winning can-do attitude she is the ideal coach for English Channel swims - I can recommend working together with her anytime."

Channel Swim Vessel - Royal Charlotte (2024 Swims Only)
Skipper Mick Coker with his vessel The Royal Charlotte, escorted Chloë across on the inaugural Half Channel Swim in September 2023. Mick, with the Royal Charlotte also escorted two 2024 English Channel Half Swims.
Mick was very happy to assist Chloë and her swims for the 2023 & the start of the 2024 seasons and will be stepping away as Chloë now has her new vessel and her own Skippers.
Chloë is forever grateful to Mick and his son Matt for their support pioneering these swims and for their ongoing mentoring.
